How to Place Indicators in MetaTrader 4 Charts

Step 1: Open The Platform/Software Navigator Window

Open Navigator window as shown & shown below - Navigate & go to 'View' menu (then click on it) & then choose 'Navigator' panel (click), or From the Standard Tool-Bar click 'Navigator' button or press short-cut key-board keys 'Ctrl+N'

On Navigator panel, choose 'Indicators', (DoubleClick)

Step 2: Expand Indicators Menu in the Navigator

Expand the technical indicator menu by clicking the expound (+) button tool mark ( + ) or double-click 'indicators' menu, after that, this button then will now be shown as (-) and will now show as a listing like shown below.

From the Above window you as a gold trader can then place any trading indicator that you as a trader want onto the trading chart.

Setting and Placing Average Directional Movement on Chart

Step 1: Select/Choose the Average Directional Movement Index button on the MT4 list of indicators like is shown below:

Step 2: Double click the ADX Button, & click ok to place the indicator on the chart like shown and displayed below:

Edit ADX Indicator Settings

To Change Settings, right-click in ADX, select properties settings and then edit property settings of the indicator using the popup menu that appears & then click ok button key after you change settings.

The following popup panel/window appears and ADX properties can be changed and edited using this pop-up window.
