MT4 Status Bar
One quick method to check the real-time internet connection between your MetaTrader 4 software and the server of your online crypto broker is to check the MT4 status bars on the MT4 platform interface - MT4 Connection Bar on MT4 Status Bar.
In the trading example shown below, the MT4 Connection Bars in the MetaTrader 4 Status Bar are displayed:

The MetaTrader 4 status bar shows if you're linked to the servers. With a good connection to the trading server, you can enter positions on the online market. Use MT4 for crypto charts. When connected, MT4 charts stay fresh. If your MT4 Bitcoin charts aren't updating, check the connection first. Look at the bars on the MetaTrader 4 status bar.
Green bars on the MT4 status bar mean a good connection. Nearby, it lists kilobytes sent and received.
Red bars in the MT4 status bar mean no connection. You can't open trades with the broker's server then.
Furthermore, the appearance of red bars might signal a disruption in your internet connection: consequently, if you are using a connection such as dial-up and observe red bars, the issue may stem from your local internet connection rather than the crypto broker's server. A frequent inquiry among bitcoin traders is, "Why are my MT4 Bitcoin Charts Failing to Update?" If your MT4 charts cease updating, your initial step should be to verify the MetaTrader 4 software's connectivity to your crypto broker by examining the MT4 connection bars located on the MetaTrader 4 status bar - this addresses the "MT4 Bitcoin Charts Not Updating" issue.
To show the status bars on the MetaTrader 4 software, a trader needs to use the "Status Bar" button on the "View" menu options such as shown below, Press to check, once the option is checked the MT4 status bar will be shown at the bottom right corner of your MT4 Bitcoin Software.

How to check if there is an internet connection on the MetaTrader 4 Platform Software
MT4 Bitcoin Software Connection Bars on Status Bar - Green Bars indicate that the connection is online & Red Bars illustrate that the connection is offline. The connection may be either your internet services provider - ISP or crypto broker server. Most of the time it'll be your internet service provider as the crypto brokers have 2 to Three simultaneous servers & there is no way all of them can be offline even if it is for 1 second.
