Chandes Dynamic Momentum Index indicator is similar to Welles Wilder's RSI indicator - RSI indicator, however, there one very important difference.
RSI indicator uses a fixed number of price periods while the Chande Dynamic Momentum Index indicator uses a variable amount of price periods adjusted as market volatility changes.
The number of price periods used by Chandes Dynamic Momentum Index indicator decreases as market volatility increases. This allows the Chande Dynamic Momentum Index indicator to be more responsive to price changes.
The Chandes Dynamic Momentum Index indicator is more accurate than the RSI indicator and has less whipsaw fakeouts and is less Choppy compared to the RSI indicator
