Linear Regression Acceleration indicator calculates the changes in the regression line's gradient on the current forex price bar from its gradient from the previous forex price bar. The Linear Regression Acceleration indicator value used to calculate the linear regression is referred to as the normalized acceleration value which is drawn for each forex price bar that forms on the forex price chart.
How to Add MT4 Linear Regression Acceleration Technical Indicator in MetaTrader 4 Charts
If the normalized acceleration used is 0.30, then the regression line normalized slope will be rising at a rate of 0.30 per each forex price bar.
Similarly, a normalized slope of -0.40 would signal that the regression line normalized slope is declining at a rate of -0.40 per each forex price bar.
For example, if the current forex price bar normalized slope is 0.30 and the previous forex price bar normalized slope is 0.10, then the normalized acceleration of the current forex price bar would be calculated as 0.30 - 0.10 = 0.20.
NB: It is important to note that a positive acceleration Linear Regression Acceleration indicator value does not equate to a positive slope value - it simply means the gradient of the slope is increasing. The resulting regression slope is displayed as a bi colored histogram that oscillates above and below 0 center line mark.
The reference line is set at the 0 center level mark.
- A rising slope - greater than its previous value of 1 forex price bar before is displayed in the up slope color.
- A declining slope - lower than its previous value of 1 forex price bar before is displayed using the down slope color.
