What is Required Margin? : Required Gold Margin is the sum of money your broker requires from you to open a trade transaction position. It is expressed in percent.
What is Trade Equity? : XAUUSD Equity is the total sum of capital you have in your account.
What is Used Margin? : Used XAUUSD Margin is the sum of money in your account which has been already used up when buying a trading contract, this trading contract is one that's highlighted in open trade positions. As a trader you can not use this amount of money after opening a trade because you've already used it & it isn't available to you to open another trade with.
In other terms, because your online broker has opened up a position for you using capital you have borrowed, you must maintain this used margin as a security to allow you to continue using leverage the broker has given you.
What is Free Margin? : Gold Free XAUUSD Margin is the amount of money in your account which you can use to open new trade positions. Free Gold Margin is the sum of money in your account that has not yet been leveraged because you've not yet opened a trade transactions with this equity - this Free Gold Margin is also very important for you as a trader because it enables you as a trader to continue holding your open trade transactions as shown below.
Example of What's Gold Margin on MT4 Platform
The margin examples on MetaTrader 4 below, the set leverage ratio is 100:1, the margin which is 1 % is $2683.07 - therefore the total sum controlled by the trader is: $268,307 - this is because with leverage the trader has used little of their own funds and borrowed the rest from their broker, with this leverage option set at 100:1, a trader is using 1 % of their capital, this 1 % is $2683.07 - if 1 % is $2683.07 then 100 % is $268,307
