How to Add & Modify Stock Index Stop Loss Orders on MT4

Stock Index stop loss orders are stock index orders used to automatically close open stock index trades in MetaTrader 4 software. Stock Index stop loss orders are used by traders to help reduce stock index losses & close open stock index trades once these stock index trades moves against the traders' position by a specified number of stock index pips.

StopLoss orders can be set when opening new stock index trades & stop loss orders can also be set for already opened stock index trades.

How to Set Stock Indices Stop Loss Orders When Opening New Indices Trades

1. Open a Stock Index trading chart for the stock index instrument you want to trade
2. Right Click on the Stock Index Chart
3. Select New Order button
4. Choose the Set StopLoss Option within this New Order stock index trading window
5. Specify your Stop Loss level for the stock index trade that you want to open
6. Select buy or sell to open a stock index trade

For a buy stock index trade the stock index stop loss order is set below the stock index trading price quote you want to buy at and for a sell stock index trade the stock index stop loss order is set above the stock index trading price quote you want to sell at.

How to Set Stock Indices Stop Loss Orders for Open Indices Trades

Select stock index trade you want to modify from the MetaTrader 4 stock index trade transactions window

1. Right click on the stock index trade order & select Modify Order
2. Select Stop Loss Field
3. Specify the Stop Loss level for the stock index trade
4. Click the Modify Order Button Key
