RVI forex indicator combines the traditional concepts of technical analysis with modernized digital signal processing theories & filters to create a practical and useful forex indicator.
The basic principle behind RVI forex indicator is simple -
- prices tend to close higher than they opened in an upwards trending market and
- prices tend to close lower than they opened in a downwards trending market.
The momentum (vigor) of the market trend move will thence be established by where the market prices end up at the close of the price candle. The RVI forex indicator draws two lines the RVI Line and the signal Line.
The RVI index is based on measuring of the average difference between the closing price and opening price - this then averaged to the mean daily range and then used to draw the indicator.
