Buy stop xauusd orders & Sell stop xauusd orders are xauusd orders used to buy above or below the current market gold price.

These xauusd orders are popularly used to trade when there is a consolidation chart pattern - placing a buy stop order to buy above the consolidation chart pattern and placing a sell stop order to sell below the consolidation chart pattern.

These buy stop orders and sell stop orders are used by traders wanting to xauusd trade a setup like the consolidation pattern but they do not want to wait and watch the gold prices all day long until there is a gold price breakout.

Therefore, xauusd traders will set these pending buy stop orders and sell stop orders above & below the current gold price & a gold price break out in any of these direction will execute one of these pending stop xauusd orders & a buy xauusd trade or a sell xauusd trade will automatically be executed & opened.

Open a XAUUSD Gold Chart, Right-Click on the Chart, Choose New XAUUSD Order, then Follow the steps below

Step1: Select Pending order as illustrated & shown below

Step2: Select Pending xauusd order Menu as Shown on the xauusd example shown below

Step3: Select Buy Stop XAUUSD Order or Sell Stop XAUUSD Order pending xauusd order

Step4: Click "Place" Order and specify the buy stop gold price or sell stop gold price

Pending XAUUSD Orders

Limit order definition - Entry limit is an order to buy or sell xauusd at a certain gold price which is a retracement level where gold price is predicted to pullback to before resuming the original XAUUSD trend. Traders use them to buy or sell at better market price. These types of orders are available in most of the trading platforms, for our example we shall use the MetaTrader 4 trading platform.

An entry of this type can be used to buy below the xauusd market level (upward xauusd trend market retracement) or sell above xauusd market level (downwards xauusd market trend retracement).

Buy limit - When buying, your entry buy limit pending order is executed when the xauusd market falls to your set gold price. ( retraces downwards )

Sell limit - When selling, your entry sell limit pending order is executed when the xauusd market rises to your set gold price. ( retraces upwards )

Entry orders are placed by traders when they expect gold price to bounce back after reaching this level.

In the xauusd example shown below a the sell entry limit xauusd order was placed to sell at a gold price above the current market gold price. This is the level for the gold price retracement.

When gold price quote hit the set level the xauusd order changed to a sell, this is therefore a good method to buy or sell at a better gold price after a retracement.

To set up these xauusd orders on MT4 software, Right Click on xauusd chart>>> Select "Trading">>> Then Select "New" Order>>> Then on the popup window that appears (illustrated below), under the label "Type" select option of "Pending" xauusd order instead of "market execution">>> Under the pending xauusd order options select the pending xauusd order type: for This trade choose either "Buy Limit XAUUSD Order" pending xauusd order or "Sell Limit Gold Order" pending xauusd order depending on whether you want to place a pending buy or sell gold trading order.

Read XAUUSD Pending Orders
