What is Required Forex Trading Margin? : Required Forex Trading Margin is amount of money your online trading broker requires from you to open a forex trade position. It is expressed in percent.

What is Forex Free Margin? : Forex Free Margin is the amount in your forex account which you can use to open new forex trade positions. Forex Free Margin is the amount of money in your forex trading account which hasn't yet been leveraged because you have not yet opened a forex trades with this money - this Forex Free Margin is also very important for you as a trader because it enables you to continue holding your open forex trades as explained below.

The forex margin example on MetaTrader 4 below, the set forex trading leverage is 100:1, the forex margin which is 1% is $2683.07 - therefore the total amount controlled by forex trader is: $268,307 - this is because with this leverage the trader has used little of their own money & borrowed the rest from forex broker, with this forex trading leverage set at 100:1, trader is using 1% of their forex trading capital, this 1% is $2683.07 - if 1% is $2683.07 then 100% is $268,307
