How to Login to MetaTrader 4 Platform

To trade with MetaTrader 4 Gold Platform you will need to first of all enter gold account details - the MT4 platform will prompt you to enter you gold account details and you as a trader can use enter your gold account login details by clicking the File tab in MT5 platform at the top left corner of MetaTrader 4 platform, then select the Login to Trade Account option and then enter your gold trading account details - gold practice account details for MetaTrader 5 gold demo account & gold live account details for MT4 real gold trading account.

How to Open a Gold on MT4

To open a Gold go the MT4 Market Watch Window select the gold instrument that you want to open and double click on the gold instrument to open the gold chart for this gold instrument.

You can also click the click to add button key at the bottom of MetaTrader 4 Market Watch Window Panel to add a gold instrument that is not listed on the Market Watch Widow.

How to Open a Gold Trade on MT4

To open a gold trade in the MetaTrader 4 software right click within the gold chart & choose the New Order Widow to open a buy or sell gold trade.

A trader can also open the New Order window on the MetaTrader 5 platform by clicking the MT4 shortcut key - F9, gold traders can press F9 to open the New Order window.

From the MT4 New Order window panel a trader can open a buy or a sell gold trade by clicking the Buy by Market to open a buy gold trade or clicking the Sell by Market to open a sell gold trade. From this gold new order trade window a trader can also specify the gold lot size that they want to buy or sell.

How to Open a Buy Trade on MT4

To open a buy gold trade sect the New Order window panel in MetaTrader 5 Platform by pressing F9, specify the gold lot size that you want to trade, click the Buy by Market Button to open a buy gold trade in the MT5 Platform.

How to Open a Sell Trade on MT4

To open a sell gold trade sect the New Order window panel in MetaTrader 5 Platform by pressing F9, specify the gold lot size that you want to trade, click the Sell by Market Button to open a sell gold trade in the MT5 Platform.

How to Close a Gold Trade on MT4

Open the MetaTrader 4 Terminal Window where open gold trades are displayed in MetaTrader 4 Platform by pressing MetaTrader 5 shortcut Keys CTRL+T, then select the gold trade you want to close, then select Close Order option - and this then opens a gold Order window to close the gold trade - click the yellow Close button to close the gold trade in MetaTrader 4 software.

How to Set Take Profit on MT4

Take Profit Level can be set when opening a new gold trade in MetaTrader 4 platform. On the New Order window provided on the MT4 platform there is a field for Take Profit - this is where a trader will specify the take profit level for their open gold trade.

Take Profit Level can also be set when modifying an already open gold trade, to modify & set take profit for an open gold trade - right-click on the trade you want to modify in the MetaTrader 4 Terminal Window Panel or on the Gold trading chart, Choose Modify Order, Select Take Profit and set the Take Profit Level you want for your open gold trade.

How to Set Stop Loss on MT4

StopLoss Level can be set when opening a new gold trade in MetaTrader 4 platform. On the New Order window provided on the MT4 platform there is a field for Stop Loss - this is where a trader will specify the stoploss level for their open gold trade.

StopLoss Level can also be set when modifying an already open gold trade, to modify & set a stop loss for an open gold trade - right-click on gold trade you want to modify on MT4 Terminal Window or on the Gold trading chart, Choose Modify Order, Select Stop Loss and set the Stop Loss Level you want for your open gold trade.

How to Place a Gold Pending Order on MT4

To place a gold pending order open the New Order Window on the MT4 platform, then change the gold order Type from Market Execution to Pending Order.

Gold traders can then select the gold pending order that they want to set, the pending orders are buy limit, buy stop, sell limit, sell stop.
