MT5 Gold Chart Time Frames: Periodicity on Gold Charts in MetaTrader 5
Periodicity is commonly referred to as Gold Chart Time Frames by many traders. On the MetaTrader 5 software.
The button key below is used to choose the periodicity or xauusd chart timeframe to trade with. This button can be accessed on the MT5 platform as shown below.

On the MT5 platform these xauusd chart time frames are:
- 1 Min Chart Time Frame - M1
- 5 Minutes Chart Time-frame - M5
- 15 Minutes Chart Time-frame - M15
- 30 Minutes Chart Time Frame - M30
- 1 H Chart Time Frame - H1
- 4 Hours Chart Time Frame - H4
- Daily Chart Time Frame - D1
- Weekly Chart Time Frame - W1
- Monthly Chart Time-frame - MN
How to Know Which XAUUSD Chart Timeframe You are Using
A common question especially if you are new to xauusd would be how to identify which xauusd chart timeframe you are using on your MT5 platform:
There are various methods of knowing which MT5 xauusd chart timeframe you are using as Shown below:
Use the above Menu as Shown above
In the above xauusd example once you select the periodicity button under the charts menu, then the list of xauusd MT5 chart timeframes is shown and the gold chart timeframe that is currently selected, the one that you are using will be highlighted with a different color, on our above example this is the 1 Hour(H1) xauusd chart timeframe, whose Icon on the left is highlighted in light blue.
MT5 Gold Chart Change Chart Timeframe - How to Change MT5 Gold Chart Time-frame
This MT5 periodicity MT5 toolbar is by default located at the top of the MT5 platform and has all the gold chart timeframes marked as shown below. The chart timeframe that a trader is using will be marked differently from the other xauusd chart timeframes, the selected xauusd chart timeframe will be "indented" as shown below:
Use the information displayed at the tops left corner to get MT5 Gold Chart Time-frame
At the top left corner of the xauusd MT5 chart, the MT5 xauusd chart time-frame is displayed as shown below:

When you open a xauusd chart you can then use above three methods to know which periodicity - xauusd chart timeframe you're trading with.
You can also use the tabs, if you're trading many gold charts. To view this tab, Go to "View Menu" then Select "Charts Bar". The following MT5 bar will appear that you can use to navigate and it indicates the gold as well as the gold chart time frame.
