Before placing any gold trading on the MetaTrader 4 software, you will be required to log in to your xauusd account and get authenticated before gaining access. Authentication is checking to see if the xauusd sign in credentials you provide for Username & Password are the correct details.
To start trading on MT4, just click on "File", then choose and click "Sign in" button from the file drop down menu as shown below.

Once you in put your Username & Password you will then have to select the server: because this is a demo gold trading account, for this instance you will then select "Demo", if it was a real xauusd trading account/live gold trading account then you would have to select "Real" Server on this option by clicking on the dropdown arrow on right side of the above text box.
Then tick the box "Save Account Information"
Then Click 'Sign in'
Once you click login your xauusd login details will be authenticated and you will then have access to your MT4 xauusd account and when logged in to your xauusd account you can begin to trade and place new orders in the xauusd market in MetaTrader 4 platform. If you do not have xauusd login details you can get these details by registering a practice trading account with a xauusd broker. To login to a real xauusd account you will need to open a real trading account first with your xauusd broker.
Once you log in you can then check your account balance & set up your gold trades. To know that you've logged in to the correct xauusd account you can check the details as shown below: (You will need to open Navigator Window: Short Cut Keyboard Keys, Press Both CTRL+N on your keyboard)
If you have many xauusd accounts on the same MetaTrader 4 software platform, these accounts will all be listed on this option, you can double click on the account icon to select the xauusd account you want to login to from this navigator window.
