When Does the Market Open and What Time Does the Market Close Trading Sessions?
The morning trades are the best hours in trading the markets.
In the xauusd the most active times are during the times when banks in Europe are open (London time) & the time when the USAUS xauusd banks are open (New York Time). But for most businesses around the world most of their financial activities is carried out early in the morning, very few trades are carried out by global firms in the afternoon.
This is what most people who trade gold often notice when they are trading. Traders will see that when the London market begins, the market tends to move a good amount steadily for a few hours, and then after that it will start to go back or stay in one place. Then the New York morning starts, and for the first few hours the market will move a lot, and after that it will usually begin to stay in one place or go back until the London market opens again.
Typically, these are the two times when 70-80% of overall market movements occur. These include:
- London xauusd morning trade time
- New York xauusd morning trade time
So in GMT time what are xauusd morning trade times of these 2 markets?
Looking at the chart above, the only XAUUSD Morning Trade we're interested in is the London and New York XAUUSD Morning Trade:
- London xauusd morning trade time - 8:00 - 11:00 GMT
- New York xauusd morning trade time - 13:00 - 16:00 GMT
Our trading commitment for the morning session will thus be restricted to three hours, as the objective during this period is to finalize existing trades before the price begins to pull back or consolidate.
For morning traders, the time frame for initiating and concluding trades is crucial. Trades opened in the morning should ideally be closed within three hours, as significant gold market movements typically settle afterwards, leading to reduced liquidity and slower price shifts.
