What is Required Margin? : Required Margin is the amount of money your broker requires from you to open a position. It is denoted/expressed in percent.
What is XAU USD Equity? : Gold Equity is the overall total sum of capital that you have got on your trading account.
What is Used Margin? : Used Margin is the amount of money in your account which has already been used for buying a lot, this trading lot is the one that is illustrated and displayed in open position transactions. You can't use this amount of money after registering a transaction because you have already used it & it is not available to you to open another trade transaction with.
In other words, because your broker has opened up a trade position for you using capital you have borrowed, you as a trader must sustain this used margin as a collateral to allow you as a Gold trader to continue using this leverage the broker has issued you.
What's Gold Free Margin? : Gold Free Margin is the amount of money in your trading account which you as a trader can use to open new positions. XAU USD Free Margin is the amount of money in your account that hasn't yet been leveraged because you have not yet opened a trade positions with this money - this Free Margin is also very important for you as a trader because it facilitates you to continue holding your open trade positions as explained below.

The margin examples in MT5 below, the set leverage option is 100:1, the margin which is 1% is $2683.07 - therefore the total sum controlled by the trader is: $268,307 - this is because with this leverage the online trader has used little of their own money and borrowed the rest from their trading broker, with this leverage set at 100:1, a gold trader is using 1 % of their trading capital, this 1% is $2683.07 dollars - if 1 percentage is $2683.07 then 100 % is $268,307
