XAUUSD Long - Short - Charts
In trading, there are 2 types of trades, these 2 are:
- Long (buy) - Going long means the trend is buy/bullish.
- Short (sell) - Going short means the trend is sell/bearish.
Buying/Long vs Selling/short in XAUUSD Trading
Both terms in XAUUSD trading, refer to things traders do when opening a trade.
Buying Long refers to the term used by traders when purchasing gold (when initiating a buy trade) in XAU/USD.
selling short - xauusd time period used by buyers when selling gold(while starting a promote xauusd trade).
Long - This is terminology used to denote the act of buying in XAUUSD. If a trader takes a "long" position, it implies purchasing XAUUSD when the price is moving upwards. When the price exhibits an upward trajectory, the market condition is termed a bullish trend.
Short means selling XAUUSD in a down move. Falling prices signal a bear market.
The phrase "selling short" means selling in the markets. It applies when you expect a XAUUSD to lose value against another asset. Selling it then equals dropping its value and gaining the counterpart's value, often US dollars.
Buy/Long
If the price goes up, we buy: this is called going long, so long is just another word for buy. When the price is going up, it's called bullish, and that's when you place a buy trade. A bullish trend is seen by drawing a line going up on a chart. The example below shows a long/buy trade signal.

If the price is moving down we sell, this is known & referred to as going short. When market trend is going down it is referred to as to as a bearish. The example illustrated below shows a downward trend, this is when a short sell is placed. The short/sell is identified by drawing a downwards trendline on a chart. The example illustrated/shown below shows a short/sell signal.

XAUUSD Charts
A chart serves as a visual representation of trading prices (illustrated on the y-axis) over time (represented on the x-axis) for specific trading intervals. The fluctuations in market prices are plotted and depicted on these charts. The chart can be represented as candlestick charts, as shown below, or as line charts or bar charts.

Software
This is the software which is provided by a broker to help traders place their trades. Once you download & installs this software on your Desktop PC computer you then can begin to trade in the market. All trade positions are executed through this software. If you as a trader want to learn a software, MetaTrader 4 Software Platform is a good platform software to begin with.
To set these trade orders, open MetaTrader 4 Platform Software, open a 'chart', right-click the "chart', select and choose the 'New Order' & then select order either buy or sell as shown below. (Short-cut key-board Keys - Press 'F9')
