Alligator technical indicator puts together 3 Moving Average(MA) lines using fractal geometry & nonlinear calculation for the indicator.

The 3 smoothed MAs are:

  • The green line (Lips) 5 period Smoothed Moving Average, with a shift of three bars in to the future.

  • The red line (Teeth) 8-period Smoothed Moving Average, with a shift of 5 bars in to the future.

  • The blue-line (Jaw) 13-period Smoothed MA, with a shift of 8 bars in to the future.

Lips, Teeth and Jaw show the interaction of different timeframe periods.

When the Alligator's Jaw, Teeth, and Lips remain closed or interlocked, it signifies that the creature is either entering slumber or is already asleep. As this state of rest persists, its hunger intensifies - the longer it sleeps, the more voracious it will be upon awakening. The initial action post-awakening involves opening its mouth into a wide yawn. Subsequently, the scent of appealing sustenance reaches its olfactory senses: the meat of either a bull or a bear, prompting the Alligator to commence its hunt. Having consumed enough to reach saturation, the Alligator begins to disengage its focus from the food/price action (marked by the convergence of the Balance Lines) - this juncture signals the opportune moment to secure profits.
