How to Open a Stock Chart on MT4 Software

Once you've opened a practice stocks account the next step is to open a Stock chart so as to begin trading.

For this example let's start with a blank screen on the MT4 interface.

To open a new chart from the stocks example illustrated and explained below, click the 'File' tab at the top left corner as shown below, then select the option 'New Chart'.

After clicking 'New Chart' a drop-down menu will appear with a list of stocks instruments that as a trader you can select which to open. For example the first stocks instrument in the selection is the Stocks, clicking Stocks Trading will open the chart for this stocks.

Sign in to a MT4 Stock Account

Before placing any trade on the MT4 platform, you'll be required to login to your account & get authenticated before gaining access to the account. Authentication is checking to see if the login credentials you provide for User Name and Pass Word are the correct sign in details for the trading account.

To start trading in MetaTrader 4 platform, just click on 'File', then tap and click 'Login' button from the file drop down menu as shown below.

As a trader once you click this login button, then a pop up window will appear prompting you to input your Username and Password as shown below:

Once you in put your User Name & Password you'll then have to choose the server: because this is a demo stocks trading account, for this instance you will then select 'Demo', if it was a real stock trading account/live stock trading account then you would have to choose 'Real' Server on this option by clicking the dropdown arrow on the right side of the above text box.

Then tick box 'Save Account Information'

Then Click 'Login'

Once you click login your details will be authenticated & you'll then have access to your MetaTrader 4 stocks account and when logged in to your trading account you can start to trade & place new orders in the stocks market on the MT4 platform. If you do not have login details you can get these details by registering a demo trading account with a broker.
