How Do You Trade Symbols on MetaTrader 4?
To add symbols in MetaTrader 4 software use the MT4 'Market Watch' Window - To Open MT4 MarketWatch Window, Click "View' Menu next to 'File" Menu at the tops left corner of your MT4 Platform - from the dropdown menu choose 'Market Watch' button key so as to open the 'Market Watch' in MT4 platform.
Once you open MT4 Market Watch window the list of available symbols will be displayed on MT4 platform and as trader you can open a chart from this MetaTrader 4 market watch window. From this MT4 Market watch window panel you can also add symbols in Meta Trader 4 platform.
If you want to add more symbols on this MetaTrader 4 MarketWatch window, Right Click within the MT4 Market Watch window and a Pop Window appears - from this MT4 popup window select the option - 'Show All' - this will then display all the symbols that are available for trading in MetaTrader 4 platform.
Once the symbols are opened in MT4 Market Watch window panel, you can then select any of the quote & open a chart by double clicking on that symbol.

Once one selects the MT4 market-watch panel window, the following Meta Trader 4 MarketWatch window will appear showing a list of forex symbols available for trading.

As a trader you might also want to trade a symbol that is not listed on this MetaTrader 4 forex symbols list as shown below.
For example, on the above MT4 forex symbols lists only 5 forex symbols.
To get the other Meta Trader 4 forex symbols that aren't listed on this MT4 MarketWatch window, you can right click inside this MetaTrader 4 market watch window as pictured below & the following window will appear. You can then choose the 'Show All' MT4 button so as to display all the available symbols in Meta Trader 4 platform.
How Do I Interpret Symbols on MetaTrader 4?
To show a list of other Meta Trader 4 forex symbols, select the 'Show All' button, this will then show all the available MT4 forex symbols.
