MetaTrader 4 platform is the software you install on your computer. For this learn stocks course we shall refer to the MT4 or MT4, because it is the easiest stocks platform software to learn with & the most widely used.
MT4 also requires very little inter net band width, that way even if you do not have a super fast inter net connectivity you can use MetaTrader 4 without any problem. You will need to signup and register first with a broker before you can download the MT4 stock platform.

MT4 demo stocks account is a free practice account provided for beginners online stock traders, otherwise known as a demo stocks trading account that you practice with, the cash on a demo account is virtual, not real money. No one uses real money to start with, all beginners use the practice stocks account to practice with before investing real money to trade with. The MT4 stocks demo trading account is meant to provide free Stocks training practice while they learn how to trade the online stocks market.
You'll need to signup & sign up with an online stocks broker before you can get this free practice account. After you signup you will then get sign in credentials for your MT4 practice account. You will then use these stocks account login details to login to your stocks MT4 demo stocks account & begin practicing with.
Setting Up MT4 Stock Platform
After you have gotten the MT4 stocks account details you will then install MT4 software on your PC computer. If you have never installed any software before navigate to folder where you downloaded the stocks MT4 platform (don't know where that is, just Press both Ctrl & J i.e. CTRL+J or (CTRL+Y) Keys on your keyboard, and your MT4 download will appear), double-click the download trading platform file and then click next, next until you finish installing.
After you have installed MetaTrader 4 stocks software you will then open the software from the start menu of your PC computer. After you have opened the MT4 stock platform you will see the trading interface you will be working with which may seem complicated at first but it is not. At the 'top left corner' of the MT4 stocks software click on the 'File' Menu, a drop down menu appears, scroll to where you see 'Login' and click it. You will then be prompted to enter 'username' & 'password' which you got when you signed up on your broker's site.' You are now logged in to your stocks MT4 platform & you are ready to begin stocks.
After this you will see your stocks account balance displayed just below the stock charts & you as a trader can use now begin using MetaTrader 4 to place demo trade transactions on the stock trading market.
