Forex Technical indicators are forex trading tool used in the forex trading market analysis to predict the continuation of a forex trend or the reversal of a forex trend in a particular direction.

There are different types of forex indicators & the types of forex indicator will depend on how the forex indicator works. For example there are forex trend following indicators, momentum forex indicators, oscillators forex indicators and volumes indicators.

Trend Following Forex Indicators

Trend following indicators are forex indicators that help to determine the forex trend direction. Forex trend following technical indicators will indicate the general direction of forex prices whether upwards or downwards. Examples of forex trend following technical indicators are moving averages and forex trend lines.

Momentum Forex Indicators

Momentum indicators are used to analyze the strength of the current forex trend. Traders will then use this information to determine when to open a buy forex trade or a sell forex trade and also when to close an open forex trade based on the momentum of the current forex trend. Momentum indicators may include RSI and ADX forex trading technical indicators.

Oscillator Forex Indicators

Oscillator forex indicators are forex indicators that oscillate between two values and these oscillator forex indicators are used to determine the strength of the current forex trend. Oscillator forex indicators are also used by traders to determine overbought and oversold levels.

Forex traders will generally use oscillators to determine when to open a forex trade or when to exit a forex trade. Examples of forex oscillator indicators are MACD forex Indicator and Stochastic Oscillator indicator.

Forex traders can use a combination or a mixture of two or more technical indicators to create a forex trading strategy that they will use to generate forex signals. This forex trading strategy will have forex trading rules that will determine when the traders will open forex trades and when they will close forex trades.

Forex technical indicators used in a forex trading strategy should be chosen from different indicator categories: for examples a forex trend following technical indicator combined with a forex momentum indicator and a forex oscillator indicator.

For example forex indicators are provided on the MT4 platform and traders can use and place these indicators on the forex charts and use these forex technical Indicators to generate forex signals.
