Periodicity Toolbar Menu - Chart Time Frames in the MT4
Periodicity just means time frames. In MetaTrader 4, use this toolbar to pick which time frame you want to trade on.

The time-frames listed are:
- 1 Minute - M1
- 5 Minutes - M5
- 15 Minutes - M15
- 30 Minutes - M30
- 1H - 1H
- 4 Hour - 4H
- Daily - D1
- Weekly - W1
- Monthly - MN
As a trader you only require to trade with only about 3 chart time frames, for example lets say a trader only requires the 15 minute, the 1 hour and the 4 hours chart timeframe, then on the periodicity tool-bar a forex trader can hide all the others which aren't required by using the following method.
How to Customize
A forex trader must adhere to the subsequent guidelines when attempting to add an indicator not previously mentioned.
- Right Click at the tool bar button key to the left (It looks like a stack of many coins), shown & illustrated below

2. Click customize
After following above steps the customize pop-up window will appear and be shown such as displayed & shown:

Select just as shown above and click remove button.
The pop up panel will then look like:

On the platform the periodicity tool bar will now look like the illustrations shown:

By using the setup above as a forex trader, you can free up space in your MT4 platform area by hiding the time-frames that you don't trade with often.
