How to Determine if there is a Forex Trend - How to Identify a Trend in Forex

When it comes to identifying trends in forex trading - traders need to learn the correct way of identifying forex trend on forex charts.

A forex trend is a general direction of price in the forex market and this general direction can either be upwards or downwards. When the forex trend is upwards it means that forex prices are closing higher than where they opened & therefore the general forex trend direction of prices is upwards. When the forex trend is downwards it means that forex prices are closing lower than where they opened and therefore the general forex trend direction of prices is downwards.

To identify a forex trend forex trader will use a series of price highs or price lows.

Forex traders will then draw a forex trend-line connecting price highs or price lows & this forex trend line will then indicate the direction of the trend whether upwards or downward.

Forex Upward Trend

To identify a forex upward trend forex trader will identify price lows that are sloping upwards and then use a forex trend-line - upwards forex trend-line to connect these forex price lows and once this trend line is drawn on the forex chart it will then be used to identify the forex uptrend.

Forex Downwards Trend

To identify a forex downward trend forex trader will identify price highs that are sloping downwards and then use a forex trendline - downward forex trend-line to connect these forex price highs & once this trend line is drawn on the forex chart it will then be used to identify the forex downtrend.

Once forex traders draw and identify a forex trend using forex trend line - traders will then open forex trades in the direction of this forex trend. This is because once prices start to move in a forex trend direction - the forex prices will keep moving in that direction for some time and this is why forex traders identify the forex trend first & use this forex trend to open forex trades in the direction for the forex trend.
