A commodity trend line can be an upward commodity trend line or a downward commodity trend line.
An up commodity trend-line is plotted by connecting two lows and the commodity trading price lows are connected using straight line. This straight line shows that commodity prices are moving upward because this commodity trend line slopes upwards - hence its name upward commodity trend line. Commodity traders then use this commodity trendline as a support zone of the commodity trading price. New buy commodities trades are opened once the commodity trading price touches the upwards trend line.
A down commodity trend-line is plotted by connecting two highs and the commodity trading price highs are connected using straight line. This straight line shows that the commodity prices are moving downward because this commodity trend line slopes downward - hence its name downwards commodity trend line. Commodity traders then use this commodity trend-line as a resistance level of the commodity trading price. New sell commodities trades are opened once the commodity trading price touches the downwards commodity trend line.
