What is Stock Account?

A stocks account is an account used to trade stocks trading online. A trader needs to open a stocks account and then login to this stocks account in order to place trades on the online stocks market - Stocks Account Meaning.

How can I Login to a Stock Account?

To login to your stock account follow procedure explained below:

Sign in to a MetaTrader 4 Stock Account

Before placing any stocks trade on the MetaTrader 4 software, you will be required to log in to your stocks account and get authenticated before gaining access. Authentication is checking to see if the stocks sign in credentials you provide for Username & Password are the correct details.

To start trading in MetaTrader 4 platform, just click on "File", then tap and click "Login" button from the file drop down menu as shown below.

As a trader once you click this login button, then a pop up window will appear prompting you to in put your Username and Password as shown below:

Once you in put your User Name & Password you'll then have to select the server: because this is a demo stocks account, for this instance you'll then select "Demo", if it was a real stock trading account/live stock trading account then you would have to choose "Real" Server on this option by clicking the dropdown arrow on the right side of the above text box.

Then tick box "Save Account Information"

Then Click "Sign in"

Once you click login your stocks login details will be authenticated and you will then have access to your MT4 stocks account and when logged in to your stocks account you can begin to trade and place new orders in the stocks market in MetaTrader 4 platform. If you do not have stocks login details you can get these details by registering a demo trading account with a stocks broker. To login to a real stocks account you will need to open a real trading account first with your stocks broker.

Once you log in you can then check your trading account balance & set up your stock trades. To know that you've logged in to the correct stocks account you can check the details as shown below: (You will need to open Navigator Window: Keyboard Short Cut Keys, Press Both CTRL+N on your keyboard)

If you have many stocks accounts on the same MT4 software platform, these accounts will all be listed on this option, you can double click on the account icon to select the stocks account you want to login to from this navigator window.
