What Type of Forex Trading Style is Best for You?

Different types of forex trading styles require different techniques - selecting the best forex trading style for your forex strategy will increase your chances of being successful.

Different forex style methods will generally be categorized into the following categories:

Scalper

Forex scalpers are short term forex traders that open & hold open forex trade positions for a few minutes & these scalper traders trade using short forex chart time frames.

Forex scalping involves opening many forex trades throughout the day with aim of achieving small profits oftenly throughout the day.

Scalper must make fast paced decisions of when to open & close forex trades, Scalpers must be very quick to execute their forex trades.

Forex scalpers must be able to process changes in the forex prices quickly in order to make quick and rapid forex trading decisions.

Day Traders

Day traders are also short term forex traders that open & hold open forex trade positions for a few hours and these forex day traders trade using short term forex chart time frames.

Forex day trading involves opening a number of forex trades throughout the day with the aim of achieving small to medium profits from these forex trades during the day.

Day traders will open forex trades & trade frequently during the day. Day traders will open & close all forex trades during the day & day traders will not leave overnight forex positions open.

Day traders are also required to make quick forex trading decisions when trading the intraday forex market short term trends.

Day traders will mainly trade with short term forex chart timeframes such as the 5 minutes charts and the 15 minutes charts.

Swing Traders

Swing traders are medium term forex traders that open & hold open forex trade positions for a few days & these forex swing traders trade using medium term forex chart time frames.

Forex swing trading involves opening a number of forex trades during the week with the objective of achieving medium profits from these forex trades during the tutorial of several days.

Swing traders will open a few forex trades within the week and swing traders will not trade frequently. Swing traders will open and leave their forex trades open for a few days in order to catch the medium term forex trend move.

Swing traders are not required to make quick forex trading decisions like the forex scalpers or the forex day traders when trading the medium term forex market trends.

Swing traders will mainly trade with medium term forex chart timeframes such as the 4 hour forex charts and the daily charts.

Position Traders

Position traders are long term forex traders that open & hold open forex trade positions for a few weeks to a few months & these forex position traders trade using long term forex chart time frames.

Forex position trading involves opening a few number of forex trades during the year with objective of achieving a big amount profit from these forex trades during the tutorial of several weeks or months.

Position traders will open a few forex trades within the year & position traders will not trade frequently. Position traders will open & leave their forex trades open for a few weeks or months in order to catch the long term forex trend move.

Position forex traders are not required to make quick forex trading decisions like the forex scalpers or the forex day traders when trading the long term forex market trends.

Position traders will mainly trade with long term forex chart time-frames such as the weekly forex charts & the monthly forex charts.
