How to Back Test an Automated Forex EA on MetaTrader 5

To back test a forex trading Expert-Advisor in MetaTrader 5 you will need to first setup the Expert Advisor on your MT5 platform.

Once you've downloaded & installed the Forex EA on your MT5 platform follow the step by step guide below to back test your automated forex trading EA on the MT5 platform.

1. Open the MetaTrader 5 Forex Strategy Tester Window
2. Select the Automated Forex Expert you want to test
3. Select the forex instrument you want to test the Forex EA on
4. Select the Forex Chart Time Frame that you want to use
