A trendline can be an upwards trend line or a downwards trend line.
An uptrend line is drawn by connecting two lows & the price lows are connected using straight line. This straight line portrays that the currency prices are moving upward because this trend line slopes up-ward - hence its name upward trendline. Traders then use this trend line as a support zone of the price. New buy trade transactions are opened once the price touches the upwards trend line.
A downtrend line is drawn by connecting two highs & the price highs are connected using a straight line. This straight line portrays that the currency prices are moving downwards because this trend line slopes downwards - hence its name downwards trend line. Traders then use this trend line as a resistance zone of the price. New sell trades are opened once the price touches the downward trend line.
