MetaTrader 4 Gold Chart Time Frames: Periodicity on Gold Charts in MetaTrader 4

Periodicity is commonly referred to as Gold Chart Time Frames by many gold traders. On the MetaTrader 4 platform.

The button below is used to select the periodicity or xauusd chart timeframe to trade with. This button can be accessed on the MetaTrader 4 platform as shown below.

On the MT4 platform these xauusd chart timeframes are:

1. 1 Minute Chart Time Frame - M1
2. 5 Minute Chart Time Frame - M5
3. 15 Minutes Chart Time Frame - M15
4. 30 Minutes Chart Time Frame - M30
5. 1 Hour Chart Time Frame - H1
6. 4 Hours Chart Time Frame - H4
7. Daily Chart Time Frame - D1
8. Weekly Chart Time Frame - W1
9. Monthly Chart Time Frame - MN

How to Know Which Gold Chart Time Frame You are Using

A common question especially if you are new to xauusd would be how to identify which xauusd chart timeframe you are using on your MetaTrader 4 platform:

There are various methods of knowing which MT4 xauusd chart timeframe you are using as Shown below:

Use the above Menu as Shown above

In the above xauusd example once you select the periodicity button under the charts menu, then the list of xauusd MT4 chart timeframes is shown and the gold chart timeframe that is currently selected, the one that you are using will be highlighted with a different color, on our above example this is the 1 Hour(H1) xauusd chart timeframe, whose Icon on the left is highlighted in light blue.

This MT4 periodicity toolbar is by default located at the top of the MetaTrader 4 platform and has all the gold chart timeframes marked as shown below. The xauusd chart timeframe that a xauusd trader is using will be marked differently from the other xauusd chart timeframes, the selected xauusd chart timeframe will be "indented" as shown below:

Use the information displayed at the top left corner to get MT4 Gold Chart Time Frame

At the top left corner of the xauusd MT4 chart, the MT4 xauusd chart timeframe is displayed as shown below:

When you open a xauusd chart you can then use the above three methods to know which periodicity - xauusd chart timeframe you are trading with.

You can also use the tabs, if you are trading many xauusd charts. To view this tab, Go to "View Menu" then Select "Charts Bar". The following MetaTrader 4 bar will appear that you can use to navigate and it indicates the gold as well as the gold chart timeframe.
