  • Banks - CFDs Market Participants

These large banks transact billions of dollars daily on behalf of commercial companies, cfd brokers, their cfd customers and retail cfds traders. Some of these cfd transaction activity is undertaken on behalf of corporate customers while some activity comes from the banks treasury room which also conducts a large amount of cfd trading transactions, where dealers are taking their own cfd positions to make profits.

These cfd dealers handle large amounts of business, facilitating online cfd transactions and matching anonymous counterparts for comparatively small fees. The cfd brokers will provide bid and ask cfd quotes, depending on whether a retail cfd investor wants to buy or sell, the trader will then buy or sell at the current cfd price quotes (bid quote - buyer will buy at this cfd price, ask quote - the seller will sell at this cfd price).

The role of this cfd broker group is to only facilitate cfd transactions between the cfd market and the traders for a small markup called cfd spread. This group does not therefore hold any cfd orders of their own, they just facilitate the cfd.
