How to Add Alligator Trading Indicator on MetaTrader 4 Charts - Adding MT4 Alligator Indicator
Step 1: Open Navigator Window on Trading Platform
Open Navigator panel as shown and illustrated below: Go to 'View' menu (click on it), then choose 'Navigator' window (press), or From Standard Tool-Bar click the 'Navigator' button or press key-board shortcut keys 'Ctrl+N'
On Navigator panel, choose 'Indicators', (DoublePress)

Step 2: Expand the Indicators Menu on the Navigator - Adding Alligator MT4 Chart Indicator
Expand the menu by pressing the expand(+) button marker (+) or doubleclick the 'indicators' menu, after this the button will appear as (-) and will now display a list as shown below - select the Alligator chart indicator from this list of indicators so that to add the Alligator indicator on the chart.

Alligator trading indicator is a combination of 3 Moving Average lines that use fractal geometry and nonlinear calculation.
The three smoothed MAs are:
- The green (Lips) 5-period Smoothed Moving Average, with a shift of 3 bars into the future.
- The red-line (Teeth) 8-period Smoothed Moving Average, with a shift of 5 bars in to the future.
- The blueline (Jaw) 13-period Smoothed MA, with a shift of 8 bars in to the future.
Lips, Teeth & Jaw show the interaction of various time periods.
FX Analysis & Generating Signals
When the Jaw, the Teeth & the Lips are closed or intertwined, it means the Alligator is going to sleep or is asleep already. As it sleeps, it gets hungrier and hungrier - the longer it will sleep, the hungrier it will wake up. The first thing it does after it wakes up is to open its mouth and yawn. Then the smell of food comes to its nostrils: flesh of a bull or flesh of a bear, & the Alligator starts to hunt it. Having eaten enough to feel quite full, the Alligator starts to lose the interest to the food/price (Balance Lines come together) - this is the time to take the profit.
